Help: where to find tire & vehicle details

QUICK INFORMATION GUIDE

Where do I find the details?

1. Read the tire sidewall

225/65R17102H · DOT … 2323

Look on the outside sidewall for the size, brand and load / speed rating. Copy the complete markings or upload a close-up. 225/65R17 and 102H are examples, not a size recommendation.

The last four digits of the DOT code show the manufacture week and year: 2323 = week 23 of 2023. If it is not visible, enter “not visible”. Check front and rear tires if their sizes differ.

2. Check the vehicle label

TIRE AND LOADING INFORMATIONDriver’s door edge / door postOriginal tire size · Recommended cold pressure

Open the driver’s door and look on the door edge or door post for the Tire and Loading Information label. The owner’s manual also lists the vehicle’s recommended tire information. Use the vehicle label for recommended pressure, rather than the tire sidewall’s maximum pressure.

Use your vehicle paperwork to confirm the year, make and model, and add the trim if known. A photo of the tire label is helpful; your VIN or full ownership document is not needed.

3. Photograph the wheel hardware

Take one photo of the whole wheel and a close-up of its lug nuts / bolts. Count the visible nuts or bolts on one wheel and tell us whether you have a locking-nut key. If a cover hides them, select “not sure”. Include any visible corrosion, missing hardware or damage in your notes.
